Success Stories
Many projects present unique circumstances with specialized criteria that can make for a challenging scenario. It’s our ability to deliver results in these “unique” situations that make us different.
Quincy Elementary School – New Media Center
Situation
Zeeland Public Schools is one of the fastest growing school districts in western Michigan. They reside in the “hub” of the office furniture industry with industry leaders Herman Miller, Haworth and Steelcase. The school district was seeking quality, functionality and value for their wood furnishings for their new school. The architect included several custom items along with standard product and was looking for one company to provide all items, if possible.
Result
LFI was granted the award for the media center after our post-bid interview demonstrated the features and benefits of the Jasper line of furnishings for all items needed in the new media center. LFI consulted with the school administrators on several items and were able to provide enhancements beyond the original specifications.
For example, the Deveraux tables have an optional “arch” in the apron rails that make every table ADA compliant. Rather than segregate a table or two for compliance to ADA standards, the “arched” apron rails provide the proper clearance for all tables.
Also, LFI installers were able to field modify picture book shelving to allow for clearance for wall-mounted TV’s.
The media center is the central showcase of the new school. It looks great and will function well for many, many years.
